     Marshall Kelley was born on 31 July 1826 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.1,2 He was the son of John Marvin Kelley and Elizabeth Covey. Marshall Kelley married Harriet L. Washburn. Marshall Kelley died on 31 July 1913 at Cooks Corner, Bangor, Franklin Co, New York, at age 87; " Marshall Kelly was born July 31, 1826 in Alburg, Vt. and when about twenty-five years of age came to North Bangor, then a pioneer settlement, to make his home for a time with his sister, Mrs. Silenus Washburn. Three years later he was united in marriage to Harriet Washburn with whom he settled on a tract of land in Cooks Corners, at which place he spent the remainder of his life. To this union were born five children, four of whom preceeded him to the better country; one remaining son, Lewis, lived with him during the last years of his life...He passed away at his home Aug. 18, 1913, after being confined to the bed for nearly nine weeks. A brother, George of St Regis Falls still survives. The funeral was held from the Cooks Corners Wesleyan Methodist Church and interment in the Gibbs Cemetery by the side of his wife and children.
Harriet Washburn was born Aug. 28, 1830 in Waterloo, Canada. When a young woman she came to North Bangor on a visit to her brother Silenus Washburn, and while there made the acquaintance of Marshall Kelly, who, one year later, became her husband. They lived toether through a happily wedded life for nearly sixty years, then passed on to the reward of the faithful, April 14, 1911, leaving to mourn her loss, her husband, a son Lewis, and several grandchildren...Her husband left behind sorely missed her and longed for the time when they would be again united and 2 years, 4 months and 2 days later God granted his desire, and took him to Himself."1,2 He was buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, Bangor, Franklin Co, New York.1
     He appeared on the census of 7 July 1870 at Bangor, Franklin Co, New York; Marshal Kelley, 43, b. VT, Harriet, 39, b. Can E, Agness, 15, Bertha, 8, Jesse, 5, Lewis, 1, all b. NY, and John, 75, ret. farmer, b, Ireland, and wife Betsy, 76, b. VT.3 He appeared on the census of 1910 at Bangor, Franklin Co, New York; Marshall Kelley, 83, wife Harriet, 79, married 56 years, son Lewis, 40, grandaughters Flossie, 21, and Vivian, 17.4
