Almira Combs

     Almira Combs was born in 1846 at Ogdensburg, St Lawrence Co, New York.¹ She married George W. Armstrong in 1868.¹ Almira Combs died on 5 June 1921 at St Regis Falls, Franklin Co, New York; At the home of her daughter , Mrs. F. L. Tryon, at Regis Falls, June 5, Mrs. Almira Witherell , widow of the late A . B . Witherell, of this place passed away at the age of about 75years. Mrs. Witherell had been a great sufferer since last fall and her passing brought relief from pain and brought peace. Her maiden name was Almira Combs and she was twice married, her first husband being Geo. M. Armstrong who died in 1871. She married Mr. Wltherell in 1887 and took up her residence in Moira where she was held in high regard. Two years after Mr. Witherall's death in 1913 she went to reside with her daughter at St Regis Falls. She was a fine, Christian woman and a faithful member of the Moira Methodist Church. Her funeral was held her Wednesday, June 8th, Rev. M.D. Sill of Potsdam, aformer pastor here, officiating. One brother and three grandchildren also survive.¹
