Ada Guertin was born on 6 June 1876 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2,1 She was the daughter of Francis Eugene Guertin and Matilda Jane Patterson.1 Ada Guertin married John Boyer on 19 March 1893 at Sanborn, O'Brien Co, Iowa.2 Ada Guertin died on 5 November 1962 at Lake Park, Dickinson Co, Iowa, at age 86; Ada May moved with her family to Sanborn, Iowa when she was five years old. After her marriage, they farmed there for a short time, before moving to Lake Park where they remained the rest of their lives.
They had three children: Carl Eugene of Lake Park, Mrs. Helen B. Nelson of Kansas City, MO, and Kenneth of Lake Park.
For more than 20 years after her husband's death she lived in her own home near her son Kenneth.
Besides her children, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Edna Brunson of Sibley, Iowa, and Mrs. Nell Bluhm of Luverne, Minn., and one brother, Earl Guertin of Lake Park.2 She was buried on 7 November 1962 at Silver Lake Cemetery, Lake Park, Dickinson Co, Iowa.2
