     Hiram Patterson was born circa 1834 at Ontario.2,1 He was the son of Hiram Patterson and Amanda (?).1 Hiram Patterson married Persis M. Huggins on 18 January 1866 at Pittsburg, Coos Co, New Hampshire; It was the first marriage for Hiram, and the second for Persis, as she was divorced. They were married by Moody B. Hayner.2
     Hiram Patterson and Amanda (?) appeared on the census of 10 August 1870 at Pittsburg, Coos Co, New Hampshire; Hiram J. Patterson, 33, Persis, 28, Herbert, 11, Henry, 8; Fanny, 4, and Amanda, 71. Hiram and Amanda were shown as born Canada, the others, in New Hampshire.3 Hiram Patterson appeared on the census of 1881 at Coaticook, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Hiram J. Patterson, 43, Persis, 39; James Hannah, 60, and Liza Hannah, 50, and William Vassaw, 18. The family was enumerated next to Hiram's siter Mary and her husband, Israel Luther.4
