     Augustus Longeway was born on 2 January 1793 at L'Acadie, St Jean Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of Remie Longeway and Marie Geneviève Raimond. Augustus Longeway was baptized on 21 July 1793 at L'Acadie, St Jean Co, Quebec.2 He married Nancy Covey on 28 March 1819 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3 Augustus Longeway died on 20 June 1874 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 81.4 He was buried on 23 June 1874 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.4
     A contract passed before Pierre Gamelin 8 March 1823 was concerning an exchange of lands with Augustin Beaudinault dit Langevin. He signed the document as Augustus Longeway.5 He appeared on the census of 1851 at Clarenceville, Rouville Co, Quebec; Augustus Longeway, farmer, 59, b. Canada, Episcopalian, Nancy, b. US, 51, Henry, married, laborer, 25, b. Canada, Methodist, Walter [same], 18, Ann, 21, married, and an infant unnamed, 1.6

The reason the researcher did not locate this record in the parish register (which is unindexed in most cases) is because the margin entry said "Augustin Bod ?" and did not complete the last name. Godparents were Augustin Vandal and Josephte, whose last name I was unable to decipher."
