Salls married Katherine Lamkins on 8 September 1908 at Marion, Linn Co, Iowa; John was 44 years old and Katherine was 45.2 John D. Salls died on 7 December 1939 at Michigan at age 70.3
John D. Salls was also known as John Isaac Salls.4 He appeared on the census of 1901 at Rock Island, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; John D. Salls, 31, Nellie, Gladis P., 5, Kate Herold, mo-in-law, 71 along with three boarders, Nellie Wheeler, 19, Gertie Wheeler, 13, and Ernest Sundbury, 21.1 He appeared on the census of 1920 at Lawrence, Van Buren Co, Michigan; John D. Salls listed himself as 50 years old, born NY, married (but no family listed), parents were born US.5
