Mary Elizabeth Covey

     Mary Elizabeth Covey was born on 9 September 1847 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.¹ She was the daughter of Alfred Melville Covey and Jane Nokes Longeway. Mary Elizabeth Covey was baptized on 25 October 1847 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ She died on 11 April 1865 at Stanbridge, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 17; Mary Covey was said to have died at age 19, as a result of a fire in the woods while making maple syrup. Her clothes caught on fire.^2,3 She was buried at Mystic Cemetery, Stanbridge, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.²
