Asa Smith was born on 1 October 1744 at Shrewsbury, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Ephraim Smith and Hannah Rice. Asa Smith married Elizabeth Wheeler, daughter of Ephraim Wheeler, on 3 July 1764 at Shrewsbury, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.1
