Mary Ann Covey was born on 18 October 1834 at Caldwell's Manor, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec. She was the daughter of Walter Covey and Mary Tryon. Mary Ann Covey was baptized on 11 September 1838 at St Armand Methodist Church, St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. She married David Linn, son of James Linn and Ann Stevenson, on 1 January 1856 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; David was of Kingston, Ontario at the time of marriage, and Mary Ann was of Clarenceville.1
