     Frances Louise Smith was born on 1 August 1846 at Franklin Co, New York.2,1 She was the daughter of Daniel Bateman Smith and Susan Tryon. Frances Louise Smith married Henry Holbrook. Frances Louise Smith married George Holmes in 1895.3,1 Frances Louise Smith died on 1 February 1936 at New York at age 89; Frances had been ill for about two years, and died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sabin "on the Turnpike". She was the widow of George Holmes of Stockholm and had been a member of the Methodist church. She left one sister, Mrs. Winters of North Bangor and a brother, Ambrose, of Bangor.4
