Timothy L. Tryon was born in January 1823 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Timothy Tryon and Mary M. Longeway. Timothy L. Tryon married Susan (?) before 1845 at Quebec. Timothy L. Tryon married Julia A. James, daughter of John James Sr and Mary Ann Goodspeed, before 1855; 1855 census, Westport, Essex Co, NY. Timothy L. Tryon died after 29 April 1910 at Essex Co, New York.1
As of this writing (1990) no baptism has been located to substantiate that this Timothy is the son of Timothy Tryon and Mary Longeway. However, he and his wife were of Clarenceville, Quebec in 1851 and were later living at Westport, NY. The 1880 census of Westport indicated that Timothy's parents were born in Canada and France. I should think this would at least point the way to a Longeway connection. I think the L. for a middle name has to be Longeway.2 He appeared on the census of 1851 at Clarenceville, Rouville Co, Quebec; Timothy Tryon, laborer, b. Canada, Methodist, 27, wife Susan, 25, b.
