Robert Davis Whitehead

     Robert Davis Whitehead was born on 13 July 1836 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York. He married Almeda Elizabeth Tryon, daughter of Timothy Tryon and Mary M. Longeway, on 3 July 1865. Robert Davis Whitehead died on 15 July 1915 at age 79. He was buried at Smith Cemetery, Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York.¹
     He appeared on the census of 24 June 1870 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York; Robert Whitehead, 42(?), farmer, born New York, wife Almeda A., 29, keeping house, born Canada and son Willard E., 1, born New York.² He appeared on the census of 1880 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York; Davis Whitehead, 43, Almeda, 40 and Willard, 11, along with a servant, John Hamrock, 20, born Canada.³ He appeared on the census of 29 April 1910 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York; Davis Whitehead, 73, widowed, born New York, was head of the household, and with him was his som Willis, 41, his wife Blanche, 33, and their children, Roy 3 and Burl, 7/12.⁴
