John Percy was born on 9 February 1825 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York. He was the son of Charles Percy and Sarah Blackmore. John Percy married Priscilla Tryon, daughter of Timothy Tryon and Mary M. Longeway, on 1 April 1850.1 John Percy died on 19 May 1905 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York, at age 80; John Percy was born in Chateaugay
February 9th, 1825. When a young man he moved to North Burke where he met and married Pnscilla Tryon April 1st, 1850. Of this union seven children were born, three of whom are still living: Mrs. Jennie Deuel, of Burke, Mrs. Hattie Atkinson, of Minnesota, and John L. Percy, of Malone. Mr. Percy joined the Weslyan Church about forty years ago and was a faithful attendant until he moved to the village of Burke to make his home with his daughter in 1891. His faith was clear and he passed to his rest and reward May 19th, 1905. He has joined the ranks of the faithful, welcomed by the wife of his youth, who preceded him by four years to the Heavenly home. The funeral was conducted by Rev. T. A. Story, assisted by Rev. C. C. Hill, from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennie Deuel, Sunday, May 21st, 1905.1 He was buried on 21 May 1905 at North Burke Cemetery, Burke, Franklin Co, New York.1,2

On the other side were his father, Charles Percy and wife Betsy.4 He appeared on the census of 8 June 1880 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York; John Percy, 55, born NY, Priscilla, 50, born Canada, Jennie, 29, born NY, John L., 13 and father-in-law Timothy Tryon, 85, born Canada, parents born CT.5
