Silas Tryon was born circa 1846 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; info taken from 1851 St Geo de Clarenceville census. He was the son of Timothy L. Tryon and Susan (?). Silas Tryon died on 2 November 1885 at Guelph, Wellington Co, Ontario; This record in Ontario shows he was aged 38 yrs old, of pneumonia [Ont Arch File: 18325/95].
Not sure at this point which death record is his. His civil war record indicates he was son of Timothy, but his father filed for a pension in 1898. Did he die in 1864 in Virginia or 1885 in Ontario?
Enlisted as a Private on 06 September 1864 at the age of 18. Enlisted in Company G, 95th Infantry Regiment New York on 06 September 1864. Transfered on 06 April 1865 from company G to company I. Died Company G, 95th Infantry Regiment New York on 20 April 1865 in City Point, VA.1
