Harriet Derick

     Harriet Derick was born on 4 September 1821 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. She was the daughter of Jacob Derick and Candace Patterson. Harriet Derick was baptized on 7 July 1822 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ She married James Young, son of Jacob Young and Arlotta Covey, on 3 March 1840 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.² Harriet Derick died on 28 January 1908 at Elizabethtown, Essex Co, New York, at age 86; Harriet Young died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter M. Marvin, aged 86-4-24. She was survived by children, Mrs. Jennie Sands of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Emma Marvin of Elizabethtown, Jacob Young of Mineville, Mrs. Frances Durand of Brooklyn, NY, and James Young of New Haven, Conn. Her husband had predeceased her about 10 years ago.³ She was buried on 29 January 1908 at Willsboro, Essex Co, New York; Her remains were laid to rest next to those of her husband.³
