William Hislop was born on 1 September 1810.¹ He was the son of James Hislop and Isabel Beatson. William Hislop married Margaret Mounsey Young, daughter of Jacob Young and Arlotta Covey, on 30 November 1830 at St George's Anglican Church, Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.² William Hislop married Mary Miller on 19 October 1875.¹ William Hislop died on 5 May 1881 at age 70. He was buried at St Thomas' Cemetery, Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
