     George Hislop was born on 27 February 1813 at Edmunston, ? Co, Scotland. He was the son of James Hislop and Isabell Beatson. George Hislop married Emily Derick, daughter of Jacob Derick and Candace Patterson, on 15 December 1835 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St George's Anglican Church. George Hislop died on 22 November 1880 at age 67. He was buried at Union Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1
