     George Rowe Longeway was born on 11 November 1827 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Nicholas Longeway and Hannah Rowe. George Rowe Longeway was baptized on 20 January 1828 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He married Mary Jane Derick, daughter of Jacob Derick and Candace Patterson, on 21 October 1861 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 George Rowe Longeway died on 18 November 1910 at Great Falls, Cascade Co, Montana, at age 83.3 He was buried on 23 November 1910 at Dunham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3
     He appeared on the census of 1881 at Dunham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; George LONGEWAY 53, farmer, Mary J. his wife 46; Arthur J., 19; Dora, 17; Albert, 16 and George, 7. The family were Wesleyan Methodist.4
