Almira Johnson was born on 18 November 1829 at Foucault, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec. She was baptized on 7 June 1829 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St George's Anglican Church. She was the daughter of Alvah Johnson and Catherine Derick.
