Leonard Johnson was born on 28 January 1835 at Foucault, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec. He was the son of Alvah Johnson and Catherine Derick. Leonard Johnson was baptized on 12 July 1835 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St George's Anglican Church.
