Sarah R. Tryon was born circa June 1847 at Moira, Franklin Co, New York.1,2 She was the daughter of Richard Tryon and Electa (?). Sarah R. Tryon married Edward J. Blood in 1869 at New York.3,2 Sarah R. Tryon died on 28 February 1915 at Brushton, Franklin Co, New York; " The village was again shocked Sunday morning to learn that Mrs. Blood had been found dead in her bed that morning. She had been in ill health for several months but the day before and when she retired Saturday night she was apparently no worse, in fact she had seemed better that day. The cause of her death was heart trouble. The funeral was held at the house Tuesday afternoon and was largely attended. Burial in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mrs. Sarah Tryon Blood, daughter of Richard and Electa Tryon, was born in the north part of the town of Moira 69 years ago. The most part of her life, with the exceptions of some years on a farm in Bangor and in the East, was passed in this village.
She was the widow of Edwin J. Blood, to whom she was married in Bangor 47 years ago, and who died at their home in Brishton about 11 years ago."4,5 She was buried on 2 March 1915 at Sunnyside Cemetery, Gale Road, Brushton, Franklin Co, New York; Sarah Blood was 88 years and 8 months old, according to her gravestone as transcribed on the NNYTT Project website, but it must read 68 years.6,5
She appeared on the census of 1880 at Brushton, Franklin Co, New York; Sarah Blood, 33, tailoress, was living back at home with her parents, Richard and Electa Tryon.7 She and Edward J. Blood appeared on the census of 1900 at Moira, Franklin Co, New York; Edward J. Blood, 68 and Sarah R., 52. Sarah was listed as having had no children, and they had been married 31 years.2
