     Emily Almeda Young was born on 28 July 1840 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. She was the daughter of John Young Jr. and Emerline Patterson. Emily Almeda Young was baptized on 17 January 1841 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 She married William R. Popple, son of Benjamin Popple and Lydia (?), before 1861. Emily Almeda Young died on 27 May 1887 at Georgia, Franklin Co, Vermont, at age 46.2 She was buried at Georgia Plains Cemetery, Georgia, Franklin Co, Vermont; Emily's gravestone says she was born 22 July 1839.2
     She and William R. Popple appeared on the census of 12 August 1870 at Coffins Grove, Delaware Co, Iowa; Wm R. Popple, 37, b. VT, Emma, 24, b. Lower Canada, Cornelia, 7, b. VT, Ida, 4, b. VT, Jennie, 1, b. NY.3
