- [S533] The Onaga Herald , 1 Oct 1942 - Cordner John Tryon was born Dec. 11, 1857, in Clarenceville, Canada, and departed life at Wheaton, Kans. on Sept. 27, 1942, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 16 days. Mr. Tryon had been in poor health for a number of years. He was married to Julia E. Gentine on July 27, 1885. To this union were born six children, three having died in infancy. He was a member of the Congregational church of Wheaton and had lived in this community the past 70 years. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1941. he leaves to mourn their loss, three children, Mrs. Nate Moody, Westmoreland, Kans.; Cyp Tryon, Downs, Kans.; and Corbie Tryon of Grantville, Kans.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. Mr. Tryon was a kind and loving father and a faithful husband. Mrs. Mary Sale of Wheaton cared for him the last 6 ½ months. Her kindness will always be remembered.
