     Cordner John Tryon was born on 11 December 1857 at Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of John T. Tryon and Adelaide Ann Billings. Cordner John Tryon married Julia A. Gentine on 27 July 1885 at Pottawatomie Co, Kansas.2,3 Cordner John Tryon died on 27 September 1942 at Wheaton, Pottawatomie Co, Kansas, at age 84.1,4 He was buried at Onaga Cemetery, Onaga, Pottawatomie Co, Kansas.
     He appeared on the census of 14 June 1900 at Lone Tree Twp., Pottawatomie Co, Kansas; Cordner Tryon, born Dec 1857, aged 42, wife Julia A., aged 33, b. May 1867 Ohio. Married 14 years, a total of five children: 3 living. Ch: Inez B., 10, Cyprian P., 8, and Corbin, 6.2

[S533] The Onaga Herald , 1 Oct 1942 - Cordner John Tryon was born Dec. 11, 1857, in Clarenceville, Canada, and departed life at Wheaton, Kans. on Sept. 27, 1942, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 16 days. Mr. Tryon had been in poor health for a number of years. He was married to Julia E. Gentine on July 27, 1885. To this union were born six children, three having died in infancy. He was a member of the Congregational church of Wheaton and had lived in this community the past 70 years. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1941. he leaves to mourn their loss, three children, Mrs. Nate Moody, Westmoreland, Kans.; Cyp Tryon, Downs, Kans.; and Corbie Tryon of Grantville, Kans.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. Mr. Tryon was a kind and loving father and a faithful husband. Mrs. Mary Sale of Wheaton cared for him the last 6 ½ months. Her kindness will always be remembered.
