Phineas Smith was born circa 1749 at prob Shrewsbury, Worcester Co, Massachusetts. He was the son of Zachariah Smith and Lydia Hastings. Phineas Smith was baptized on 12 February 1749. He died; History of Watertown by Bond says "of Newfane, Vt."
