     Hiram Jacob Hislop was born on 11 June 1844 at Foucault, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec.1,2 He was the son of William Hislop and Margaret Mounsey Young. Hiram Jacob Hislop was baptized on 2 February 1845 at St George's Anglican Church, Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He married Jennie Stanton on 17 January 1874.2
