     Gilbert Scott was born on 28 September 1835 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of John Scott and Mary Tallman. Gilbert Scott was born on 28 September 1836 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was baptized on 25 March 1877 at Stanstead Methodist, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.2 He married Judith Elizabeth Tryon, daughter of Daniel Tryon Jr. and Amy Almeda Wait, on 24 February 1857 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont.3 Gilbert Scott died on 9 August 1907 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 71; The Stanstead Journal indicates Gilbert died at the home of Mr. E.B.Tryon.4,5 He was buried on 11 August 1907 at Marlington Cemetery, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.6,7
     He appeared on the census of 1881 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Gilbert Scott, 44, Judith, 39, Asa, 24, Warren, 21, William, 18, and Erastus, 20. Gilbert and all sons were listed as farmers, and the family was of the Wesleyan Methodist faith.8 He appeared on the census of 14 April 1891 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Gilbert was listed as aged 55 and a Methodist. Judith, 52, Asa, 32 and Erastus, 30 were enumerated with him.9 He appeared on the census of 1901 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Gilbert Scott, 65, his wife Judith, 61,as well as their son Asa, 33, and wife Cora, 25.10 He left a will on 1 August 1907 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.11
