     Samantha Longeway was born on 1 August 1830 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Longeway and Deborah Covey. Samantha Longeway was baptized on 24 October 1830 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3 She married Charles Frederick Newman on 6 May 1863 at Franklin Centre, Huntingdon Co, Quebec; Charles was a widower of Havelock, Quebec when he married Samantha.4 Samantha Longeway died on 7 June 1912 at Franklin, Huntingdon Co, Quebec, at age 81; Samantha was said to be 81 years old at death. It was wtinessed by J.J. Stevenson and H. Moneypenny.5,6 She was buried on 9 June 1912 at Franklin Centre Cemetery, Franklin Centre, Huntingdon Co, Quebec.5,6
     She and Charles Frederick Newman appeared on the census of 1881 at Havelock, Huntingdon Co, Quebec; Charles Newman, 47, b. Germany, Lutheran, Semata, 48, b. Quebec, Methodist, Almira, 17 and Debora, 14, both b. Quebec and W. Methodist.7
