     John Longeway was born on 5 March 1843 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of James Covey Longeway and Isabella Park Hurst. John Longeway was baptized on 4 June 1843 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 He married Jennie Magoon on 23 December 1871 at Wolcott, Lamoille Co, Vermont; John Longeway was 26 yrs old, and this was his first marriage. He was a resident of Potton, Quebec.3,4 John Longeway married Lizzie Smith on 17 August 1895 at Newport, Orleans Co, Vermont; This marriage was listed as his second.5 John Longeway died on 24 January 1914 at Derby, Orleans Co, Vermont, at age 70.6
     He appeared on the census of 5 June 1880 at Salem, Orleans Co, Vermont.3
