Erastus Leslie Scott

     Erastus Leslie Scott was born on 4 April 1861 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ He was the son of Gilbert Scott and Judith Elizabeth Tryon. Erastus Leslie Scott married Lillian Sophia Kilbourne, daughter of Alonzo Kilbourne and Eliza Tilton, on 3 October 1894 at Beebe Plain, Stanstead Co, Quebec.² Erastus Leslie Scott died on 15 October 1924 at Derby, Orleans Co, Vermont, at age 63; Erastus died from prostate cancer.^3,1 He was buried on 18 October 1924 at Marlington Cemetery, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.^4,3
     According to family notes, Erastus and Lillian had no children, but did adopt Winnie Kilbourne, who became a Registered Nurse in Boston. Erastus also supposedly worked for a Mr. Wood from the time he was a boy, and Mr. Wood left him his farm. He appeared on the census of 19 January 1920 at Derby, Orleans Co, Vermont; Erastus L. Scott, 54, Lillian, 52, both b. Quebec, niece Winifred Kilbourne, 26, born Kansas.⁵ "June 1923 - Received from E.L.
