Samuel Gibbs was born circa 1803 at Caldwell's Manor, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec. He was the son of Jeremiah Gibbs and Deborah Covey. Samuel Gibbs married Amy Babcock, daughter of Ichabod Babcock and Sarah Pike, on 10 January 1825 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont. Samuel Gibbs married Rebecca King. Samuel Gibbs died on 17 May 1885 at North Bangor, Franklin Co, New York; Samuel had resided in North Bangor for over 30 years.¹
