     James Alvin Longeway was born on 21 December 1875.1,2 He was the son of George Edward Longeway and Martha Maria Elizabeth Keet. James Alvin Longeway married Electa Magoon on 3 April 1906 at Newport, Orleans Co, Vermont.3 James Alvin Longeway died on 28 May 1961 at age 85.2 He was buried at Griffin Hill Cemetery, Ogden, Stanstead Co, Quebec.2
     On 12 September 1918, James registered for the draft at Fitchburg, Worcester Co, Massachusetts. This was his residence as well.1 He appeared on the census of 1930 at Fitchburg, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; James A. Longeway, 54, Electa L., 63, married about 24 years, and had step-son Earl Calhoun, 36, b. VT, living with them.4
