Henry Nelson Covey

     Henry Nelson Covey was born on 8 November 1849 at Stanbridge, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ He was baptized at St Armand Methodist Church, St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Alfred Melville Covey and Jane Nokes Longeway. Henry Nelson Covey married Rosanna Cook, daughter of Simeon Cook and Nancy Morgan, on 31 January 1879 at Cambridge, Lamoille Co, Vermont.^2,3 Henry Nelson Covey died on 21 February 1913 at North Underhill, Chittendon Co, Vermont, at age 63.^4,5 He was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Cambridge, Lamoille Co, Vermont.^3,6
     He appeared on the census of 11 June 1870 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Henry Covey, 20, a farm laborer, was living with the family of James and Sophrona O'Neil family.⁷ He appeared on the census of 1880 at Cambridge, Lamoille Co, Vermont; Henry N. Covey, 28, Roxanna, 29, along with mother-in-law, Nancy Cook, 69 and bro-in-law, John L. Cook, 34.² He appeared on the census of 16 June 1900 at Underhill, Chittenden Co, Vermont; Henry N. Covey, 49, Rosanna, 48, married 20 years, had four children, three living. Charles H., 18 (May 1882), Ella M., 10 (Nov 1889), Nellie A., 4 (Sep 1895) and Nancy Cook, mother-in-law, 89 (Aug 1810).⁸ He appeared on the census of 7 May 1910 at Underhill, Chittenden Co, Vermont; Henry Nelson, 60, Rosanna, 58, married 29 years, along with Ella M., 20 and Nellie A., 14.⁹
