Derick was born on 24 November 1811 at
(now Missisquoi Co), Quebec.

Philip Derick Jr and
Barbara Young. Abram Derick was baptized on 1 June 1813 at
Caldwell's Manor, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec.

Lydia Flagg, daughter of
Ira Flagg and
Nancy Colton, on 30 November 1837 at
Caldwell's Manor & Christie's Manor Anglican Church, Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
2 Abram Derick died on 23 February 1877 at
Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 65.
3 He was buried on 26 February 1877.
There was a tutelle and curatelle dated 20 Mar 1840, brought forth by Abram Derick, concerning the minor children of his parents, Philip Derick and "Barbary" Young, who died 13 Jun 1839 and 22 Sept 1836, respectively. They had ten children, seven of them at the age of majority, as well as Mary Ann, aged 20, married to Isaac Flagg, and two are "yet minors", William, aged 17 and Daniel, 14. Since the justices used for Tutelles was in Montreal "is upwards of forty miles" away, Abram wished he would appear in Caldwell's Manor to give advice "touching the said appointment as curator, a Tutor and a Subtutor. Gamelin also added, "And you will do justice for the Petitioner", written at Napierville.
