     Philip Derick was born on 17 November 1819 at Christie's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of John Philip Derick and Elizabeth Hurlbut. Philip Derick was baptized on 5 March 1820 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Caldwell's Manor & Christie's Manor Anglican Church. He married Catherina Elizabeth Griggs on 9 July 1850 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont. Philip Derick died on 17 September 1903 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 83. He was buried at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St Thomas's Cemetery.
