     Abram Covey was born on 4 September 1841 at Russeltown, Huntingdon Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of Elisha (Elijah) Covey and Sarah Priest. Abram Covey was baptized on 27 February 1850 at Russelltown, Huntingdon Co, Quebec, by Rev. Hugh Montgomery; Witnesses James Wilson, Adelia Montgomery.2 He married Mary Mitchell.3
     Abram Covey appeared on the census of 1880 at South Haven, Van Buren Co, Michigan; Abram was aged 39, b. Canada, wife Mary, 35, b. Canada. Children, Ida M., 14, Sarah, 12, Daniel, 10, Mary A., 7, Frank, 3, and Nellie, 1. All children born Michigan.3 He appeared on the census of 22 April 1910 at South Haven, Van Buren Co, Michigan; Abram Covey, 68, wife Mary, 68, married 50 years, had 12 children, only five still living. They had two grandsons living with them: Floyd and Daniel Barnhart, aged 24 and 22.4 He appeared on the census of 26 January 1920 at South Haven, Van Buren Co, Michigan; Abram Covey, 78, and wife Mary, 75.5
