     Ashel Hawley Derick was born on 11 November 1838 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of William Derick and Electa Pamelia Hawley. Ashel Hawley Derick married Henrietta Martha Curtis on 4 October 1870. Ashel Hawley Derick married Charlotte Smith, daughter of Alonzo Smith, on 28 October 1884. Ashel Hawley Derick died on 2 October 1915 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 76. He was buried at St Thomas' Cemetery, Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
