John Searle

John Searle was born circa 1610 at poss. Warwick, England. He married Sarah Baldwin, daughter of Richard Baldwin and Isabell (?), on 19 March 1639 at Springfield, Hampden Co, Massachusetts; This marr record was the very first one recorded in Springfield, MA. John Searle died on 11 August 1641 at Springfield, Hampden Co, Massachusetts. His estate was probated on 20 April 1642 at by his widow; Will was written 8 mos bef his death, so he may have been ill even then.
John Searle is said to have been born in England, and may have landed in Boston in 1634, but the first written mention of him is on 20 March 1637 in Springfield town records. The very first marriage record found in Springfield records is that of John Searle and Sarah Baldwin in 1639, and the first death was that of John Searle in 1641. Since he had made his Will about eight months earlier, it is assumed he was already in ill health at that time. He immigrated circa 1634 to Boston, 1637 Springfield, Massachusetts.
