Daniel James Covey

     Daniel James Covey was born on 22 August 1852 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Stephen Covey and Eliza Jane Partlow. Daniel James Covey was baptized on 18 September 1853 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ He married Louisa M. (?) circa 1876.² Daniel James Covey married Ada F. Rogers on 1 December 1907 at Underhill, Chittenden Co, Vermont; It was Daniel's 2nd marriage and he was aged 55, of Underhill.^3,4 Daniel James Covey died on 12 March 1935 at Underhill, Chittenden Co, Vermont, at age 82; His death certificate said parents were unknown, and that he was a widowed, retired farmer. The date of birth on this record was 10 August 1850 but does not list the informants's name.⁵
     He appeared on the census of 24 June 1870 at Cambridge, Lamoille Co, Vermont; Daniel J. Covey, 18, living with others as a farm laborer. He is listed as born VT.⁶ He appeared on the census of 20 June 1900 at Underhill, Chittenden Co, Vermont; Daniel J. Covey, 49 (Aug 1850), and Louisa M., 59 (Mar 1841), married 24 years. They had six children, three living. This listed Daniel as being born VT, as well as his parents.² He appeared on the census of 18 April 1910 at Underhill, Chittenden Co, Vermont; Daniel J. Covey, 56, wife Adeline F., 51, married two years.³ He appeared on the census of 13 January 1920 at Jericho, Chittenden Co, Vermont; He was enumerated as what likes Daliad J., 61 and Addy, 61. She was listed as sister to the head of household, Marsha M. Morse, widow. Daniel was listed as boarder.⁷ He appeared on the census of 4 April 1930 at Underhill, Chittenden Co, Vermont; Daniel J. Covey, 78 and Addie R., 71.⁸
