William Hough

     William Hough was born circa 1619 at Chester, Cheshire, England.^1,2 He was the son of Edward Hough and Jane Manley. William Hough was christened on 2 February 1619 at Frandsham, Cheshire, England. He married Sarah Caulkins, daughter of Hugh Caulkins and Ann Eaton, on 28 October 1645 at Gloucester, Essex Co, Massachusetts.^1,3 William Hough died on 10 August 1683 at New London, New London Co, Connecticut.²
     According to "Founders of Early American Families" by Meredith Colket, Jr (Cleveland, OH, 1985), William Hough was of Gloucester, Essex Co, Massachusetts by 1641, and was later of New London. He was said to be a house carpenter.
