Thomas Prence
M, d. 14 August 1630
| Relationship | 12th great-grandfather of Pamela Joyce Wood |
Thomas Prence was born at England.1 He married Elizabeth Todlerby before 1600 at England.1 Thomas Prence died on 14 August 1630 at All Saints, Barking, Middlesex, England.
Thomas Prence was a carriage maker of All Hallows, Barking, London when his son emigrated to New England, according to "The English Ancestry & Homes of the Pilgrim Fathers" by Charles Edward Banks, (Gen. Publ Co, Balt., MD, 1965). Previously, he had lived at Lechlade, Gloucestershire, but this was probably not the original home to the Prence family.
Thomas Prence, Sr., of All Hallows in his 1630 will says "my son Thomas Prence now remayninge in New England in parts beyond the seas". Since he willed his son a "seale Ringe of Gold", we might assume that the Prence family was fairly wealthy for the times.1,2
