     Harriet DeGroat was born on 22 February 1832 at Bombay, Franklin Co, New York.1,2 She was the daughter of Henry DeGroat and Elizabeth Covey. Harriet DeGroat was baptized on 10 July 1842 at St Armand Methodist Church, St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3 She married Wesley Ferrier at Bombay, Franklin Co, New York; "Wesley Ferrier,(GGF) married a Harriet DeGroat in Bombay N.Y., and moved to Macomb County, Mi.(village of Richmond). The family then moved north to Lapeer County, Mi. She may be buried at Lum, in a Ferrier plot.2 " Harriet DeGroat died in 1925 at Lapeer Co, Michigan.2
      As of 1880, Harriet DeGroat was also known as Farrier The name was spelled Farrier in the 1880 census for Lapeer Co, Michigan.1
