The "Commemorative Bio Record of Fox River Valley" concerning son Reuben, says Thomas married Mary Bullis, born in Massachusetts, the d/o Joseph Bullis, in 1807. The vital records at Isle La Motte, Vermont give the date 15 Sep 1812. It continues on, saying that he bought and improved a heavily timbered tract of land in Clarenceville, and was a very successful farmer. After improving the first tract and "increasing its value, he sold it at a good profit" and purchased another lot about a half mile away. He supposedly fought with the Canadian militia during the War of 1812, although at this point I have not obtained substantiating record of his service.5 On 4 March 1816, a Donation by Thomas Scott, Sr., to Thomas Scott, Jr., both of Noyan, was passed before Leon Lalanne, notary. Thomas Scott Sr. gives to his son Lot# 7 in the 4th Concession of Noyan in exchange for 5 pounds lawful money of the Province to be paid to him on January 1st each year. Beneath their signatures, it says Anna Willoughby, the wife of Thomas Scott, voluntarily agreed to the arrangement. Her first name was originally in the document as Nancy, but was struck out and Anna was written in.6
