     Algernon Prentiss Tallman was born on 31 May 1878 at Trempealeau Co, Wisconsin.2 He was the son of Humphrey Gilbert Tallman and Esther Barnes Boyd. Algernon Prentiss Tallman has also be reported to have been born 31 May 1879 Hale, Trempealeau Co, Wisconsin.3 He married Pearl Bursall on 25 June 1900 at Wisconsin.3
     According to the "History of Trempealeau County Wisconsin", Algernon was born in the southeastern part of Hale. He first began learning to be a blacksmith at York in Jackson County, Wisconsin where he lived several years. In 1901 he purchased a business in Hale where he still was at the writing of this article. He was said to be a member of the Order of Beavers.3 On 12 September 1918, Algernon registered for the draft during WW I. He gave his birthdate, age as 40, as well as his occupation as a blacksmith. His residence was at Whitehall, Trempealeau Co and his nearest relative was his wife, Pearl, same address.1 Algernon Prentiss Tallman appeared on the census of 1930 at Pasadena, Los Angeles Co, California; Algernon E. P. Tallman, 51, and wife Pearl, 59.4
