Emma Evangeline Merrill1

F, b. June 1862, d. after 1920
     Emma Evangeline Merrill was born in June 1862 at Wisconsin.2 She married Samuel Tallman, son of David Tallman and Aurilla Smith, on 7 February 1878 at Garden Valley, Jackson Co, Wisconsin; Sheri Stuve mentions they were married in a garden ceremony, and gives her last name as Merritt. They were said to have lived for some time in Merrilan, Wisconsin after their marriage.3,4 Emma Evangeline Merrill died after 1920.5
     She appeared on the census of 7 June 1900; Emma Talman, 37, widow, Erfurd O., 13, both born WI, Ethel I, 10, Elsie E., 7, Leonard S., 5, Lota E., 3, all born ND, Archie I, 1 and Samuel E., 5/12, both born MN. We can determine from this that Samuel must have died in 1899.6
