Isaac Pearson was born circa June 1844 at Leeds, Yorks, England.1 He was the son of Charles Pearson and Elizabeth Curry. Isaac Pearson was baptized on 2 June 1844 at St Peters Wesleyan NC, Leeds, Yorks, England; Baptism lists him as son of Charles and Elizabeth.1 He married Ellen Ingman, daughter of Stephen Ingman, on 17 February 1867 at St John & St Barnabas, Holbeck, Yorks, England; The marriage record listed Isaac Pearson, 22, moulder, and Ellen Ingman, 21, both of Moore Street. Isaac's father was listed as Edward Pearson, moulder. Since his real father died when he was about a year old, the only father he knew was Edward Smith. This writer believes when asked his father's name, he replied Edward, and the vicar assumed the last name was Pearson. Isaac was then living with Edward Smith and his mother and siblings at 3 Barley Row, Leeds.2,3 Isaac Pearson died in 1900? At Leeds, Yorks, England; There was an Isaac Pearson who died in 1900 in Leeds, aged 56, which may possibly be him.4
He appeared on the census of 1871 at 22 Edwin Street, Holbeck, Yorks, England; Isaac Pearson, 27, iron moulder, Ellen, 27, both b. Leeds, Eliza, 3 and Elizabeth, 1, both b. Holbeck.5 He appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 20 Edwin Street, Holbeck, Yorks, England; Isaac Pearson, 36, Iron Moulder at Works, Ellen, 38, House Duties, Eliza, 13, General Servant (Domestic), and Rowland Dufton, 3, visitor. All were born Leeds.6 He was an iron moulder. This is most definitely our Isaac Pearson since the year is correct and he has the occupation of Edward Smith who raised him. on 3 April 1881 at Holbeck, Yorks, England.6 He appeared on the census of 1891 at 17 Edwin Street, Holbeck, Yorks, England; Isaac Pearson, 46, iron moulder and Ellen, 47, both born Leeds.7
