     Alta Wait was born on 5 November 1811.1 She was the daughter of Gardner Wait and Lucretia Fillmore. Alta Wait married Benjamin Bell on 21 February 1830. Alta Wait died on 14 December 1874 at St Lawrence Co, New York, at age 63.1 She was buried at Richardson Cemetery, Brasher, St Lawrence Co, New York.2
      As of 1874, Alta Wait was also known as Atte Wait.2
