Albert Leslie Tryon was born on 25 July 1825 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of Timothy Tryon and Mary M. Longeway. Albert Leslie Tryon married Huldah Ann Slaughter on 21 November 1848 at by Rev. B. Pomeroy; Westport Courier, 6 Dec 1848: Married on the 21st ult., by Rev. B. Pomeroy, Mr. Albert L. Tryon of Elizabethtown, to Miss Hulda Ann Slaughter of Westport.2 Albert Leslie Tryon died on 7 March 1918 at age 92.1 He was buried at Wesley, Kossuth Co, Iowa.1
At the age of 18, Albert was licensed by the Wesleyan Church to preach, He moved to the United States in 1846 when he was 21 and located at Westport where he lived six years, learning to be a carpenter. He then moved to Iowa and worked his trade.
In 1881, the family moved to Kossouth County, Iowa, where he was in charge of the Wesleyan Circuit for that area.1 He appeared on the census of July 1860 at Le Claire Twp, Scott Co, Iowa; Albert Tryon, 34, born Canada, Huldah 30, born New York, Roxa, 8 born NY, Huldah I., 5, born Iowa, and Leslie, 8/12, born Iowa.3 He appeared on the census of 24 August 1870 at Camanche, Clinton Co, Iowa; Albert Tryon, 45, Huldah, 40, Almeda, 18, Isabelle, 16, Albert L., 12, Zenus, 9 and Bascom B., 4.4 He appeared on the census of 20 April 1910 at Wesley, Kossuth Co, Iowa; Albert Tryon, aged 84 is listed with his son Ralph and family. The census indicates he came to the US in 1848.5
