Samuel Covey

     Samuel Covey was born on 26 December 1798 at Acton, Windham Co, Vermont. He was the son of Joseph Covey and Theodosia Hooker. Samuel Covey died on 16 January 1885 at Stockholm, St Lawrence Co, New York, at age 86; The article noted he was aged 86. "His funeral was attended at his late residence by a large concourse of relatives and neighbors, Rev. E. J. Chaffee, of Potsdam, officiating.
The name of Samuel Covey is spoken with respect and affection by all intimately acquainted with him. He was ever ready to aid the poor and needy, his place will be hard to fill. He had
been a resident of Stockholm over 60 years and was the last of the old original settlers, of the neighborhood in which he resided.¹
