Harland Covey

     Harland Covey was born in October 1885 at Ellenburg, Clinton Co, New York.¹ He was the son of William Covey and Susan G. Covey. Harland Covey has also be reported to have been born 18 February 1886.² He married Della Rose Clark on 19 May 1909 at Ellenburg, Clinton Co, New York; Harland Covey, age 23, farmer of Ellenburgh, NY married Della R. Clark. age 16, of Altona, NY [Episcopal Church Records].³ Harland Covey married Bernice Day, daughter of Clarence Day, on 14 May 1951 at Newbury, Orange Co, Vermont.⁴ Harland Covey died on 22 October 1967 at Lebanon, New Hampshire; He had lived in Vermont since 1930. He left two daughters, Neta Spoor of Ellenburg Depot, Leoma Stockman of Hampton, CT; two sons, Ernest of Bradford, VT, and Clarke of Sckaunsburg, Illinois; a sister, Eunice Tucker of Bradford, VT, and Elsworth of Ellenburg Depot.⁵
     He appeared on the census of 22 April 1930 at Mooers, Clinton Co, New York; Harland Covey, 45, Della, 37, Oakland, 16, Clark S., 11, Harding, 10 and Leoma, 1.⁶ Harland was of Bradford, Vermont in 1951.
