     Mary Melissa Derick was born on 31 December 1845 at Quebec.1 She was born on 2 January 1844 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 She was the daughter of William Derick and Clarinda Scott. Mary Melissa Derick was baptized on 12 October 1847 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 She married Isaac Briggs Salls, son of Benjamin Franklin Salls and Lydia A. Tryon, on 12 February 1862 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Briggs Salls was of Stanstead and Mary was of Clarenceville.3 Mary Melissa Derick died on 24 January 1909 at Manchester, Hillsborough Co, New Hampshire, at age 63; The cause of death was cardiac embolism. She had been a resident in Manchester for five years, and the previous residence was North Troy, Vermont.1,4 She was buried on 26 January 1909 at Village Cemetery, Beebe, Stanstead Co, Quebec.4
